Charles Leclerc atribui Qualificação decepcionante no GP do Japão ao ‘pobre equilíbrio’ do Ferrari SF 24.

Charles Leclerc secured eighth place in the classification for the Japanese Grand Prix after facing difficulties with his SF-24 car. Ferrari drivers had a good start to the 2024 season, clinching a victory despite Red Bull’s dominant campaign. However, Leclerc encountered challenges with the balance of his car during qualifying, resulting in a less favorable starting position for the race.

Leclerc discussed the issues he faced during qualifying and acknowledged noticeable performance problems with the car. Fortunately, the car’s balance was not severely compromised, providing some optimism for the team to address the issues at hand.

In an attempt to improve his car’s performance, Leclerc tried various strategies to optimize tire performance. Unfortunately, these attempts proved unsuccessful, resulting in a disappointing qualifying session for the 26-year-old driver. Although the team’s race pace seemed strong, they anticipated difficulties overtaking other competitors on the high-speed corners of the Japanese Grand Prix circuit.

Leclerc expressed his frustration with the challenges faced by his car at the Japanese Grand Prix, especially due to the high-speed corners of the circuit, which are not ideal conditions for Ferrari. However, the team remains determined to maximize their results and minimize any errors during the race. Leclerc openly admitted his confusion regarding the problems encountered by the car during qualifying.

On the other hand, Carlos Sainz had a more satisfactory qualifying session in Suzuka. Sainz expressed his satisfaction with the performance shown during qualifying, considering Ferrari’s relative weakness at the Suzuka circuit in Formula 1. Consequently, the team acknowledges the need for an extra effort to extract the maximum potential from their car.

Leclerc will need to make more effort to climb positions from his eighth place in the race. The team showed impressive pace in previous practice sessions, emphasizing the importance of resolving the issues with Leclerc’s car before the main event of the Japanese Grand Prix.
