New triumph of Nasser Al-Attiyah in stage 3 of the BP Ultimate Rally-Raid Portugal.

Nasser Al-Attiyah finishes and continues in the BP Ultimate Rally-Raid Portugal, with victory in the third stage held this Friday. The podium of the day had two Challengers, in a balanced stage where the top five were separated by just over two minutes.

It was the longest stage of all, with 388km timed between Grândola and Badajoz – the arrival in Spanish territory. Al-Attiyah (Nasser Racing by Prodrive) took 3h31m47s, and thus surpassed Rokas Baciuska (Can-Am Factory Team) by 1m45s. The Lithuanian won the stage among the Challengers, being two seconds faster than Luís Portela Morais (G Rally Team).

The second in the Ultimate category, Lucas Moraes (Toyota), recorded the fourth overall time of the cars 1m49s behind Al-Attiyah, followed by the X-Raid MINIs of Jpão Ferreira and Carlos Sainz. Sethg Quintero (Toyota) was seventh overall and fifth in the Ultimate category. In the SSV, João Monteiro (South Racing Can-Am) won the stage by being 8m15s faster than Rui Serpa (Santag Racing/G Rally).

In the general classification, Al-Attiyah now leads Ferreira by 4m39s, while Moraes is third, 4m59s behind the leader. Sainz is fourth ahead of Baciuska, who is at the top of the Challenger category with a clear 7m07s lead over Armindo Araújo (Santag Racing/Can-Am). In the SSV category, Monteiro leads, with a 15m08s advantage over Ricardo Ramilo (Can-Am).
