Aston Martin aborda especulações sobre oferecer pagamento substancial ao especialista em aerodinâmica da Red Bull, Adrian Newey.

The president of Aston Martin, Lawrence Stroll, has been the subject of rumors that he is interested in acquiring the services of Adrian Newey for the team based in Silverstone.

Lawrence Stroll, president of Aston Martin, is widely recognized as one of the most talented designers in Formula 1 history. With nearly two decades at Red Bull, the 65-year-old has caught the attention of rival teams, including Aston Martin. The team boss addressed these speculations.

There have been reports that Lawrence Stroll has presented a lucrative contract offer to Adrian Newey. The renowned aerodynamics expert from Red Bull is said to be considering leaving Milton Keynes due to increasing tensions. When asked about this, the team boss firmly denied the rumors.

In response to the rumors, the team boss highlighted Aston Martin’s strong technical team, which includes former Red Bull aerodynamics chief Fallows. Additionally, the recent addition of legendary Alpine designer Bob Bell to the Silverstone-based team was mentioned. The team boss emphasized that the British team is content with its current technical setup.

Aston Martin made significant strides during the winter break before the 2023 Formula 1 season. In the first half of the year, they stood out as the best among the other teams, trailing only teams like and . Critics claimed that the Silverstone-based team replicated Red Bull’s projects with the help of former Red Bull engineers, including Fallows.

Team boss Mike Krack emphasized that with relatively stable regulations year after year, there is a trend towards convergence in car development. He stated that the entire grid is gradually adopting a philosophy similar to that of Adrian Newey and Red Bull. Therefore, he made it clear that there is nothing distinct about the approach in Silverstone.

Since the beginning of the previous season, Aston Martin has fallen behind teams like Ferrari and McLaren. Currently occupying fifth place in the standings, they are just one point behind Mercedes. However, the British team would need significant improvements during the season to potentially challenge for victories this year.
