Ayumu Iwasa, RB VCARB 01 test driver, took part in the Formula 1 Japanese Grand Prix test day, the fourth round of the World Championship, in Suzuka, Japan, on 05.04.2024.
During the first hour of testing, Max Verstappen set the fastest time of 1:30.056 at the Suzuka circuit. The Red Bull team had a strong performance, with Verstappen and Sergio Perez finishing in the top two positions, separated by less than two tenths of a second.
Carlos Sainz finished in third place, closely following Perez by just 32 thousandths of a second. The Mercedes duo, George Russell and Lewis Hamilton, secured fourth and fifth places, respectively.
Charles Leclerc secured sixth place, while Fernando Alonso finished in seventh. Oscar Piastri completed the session in eighth place. Yuki Tsunoda, competing in his home country, took ninth place.
McLaren’s Lando Norris rounded out the top ten in the testing session.
