Charles Leclerc não pode ‘fingir’ estar ‘feliz’ com a vitória de Carlos Sainz no Grande Prêmio da Austrália.

Carlos Sainz emerged as the winner of the Australian Grand Prix, surpassing his teammate Charles Leclerc. The race proved to be a success for Ferrari as they secured a one-two finish. Unfortunately, Leclerc’s car suffered a brake failure, leading to his retirement from the race. Despite his disappointment, Sainz showed an incredible performance at Albert Park, defeating Leclerc in the end.

Leclerc was asked about his emotions after being surpassed by his teammate. The 26-year-old driver admitted that he could not declare himself happy with Sainz’s victory. It was a bittersweet moment for Leclerc as he missed out on the opportunity to win the race. However, Ferrari celebrated a triumph and earned valuable points.

Nevertheless, Leclerc did not hesitate to praise Sainz for his excellent performance during the weekend. He acknowledged that Sainz did a great job at the Australian Grand Prix. Now, it was up to Leclerc to respond positively to the victory and strive to win a race later in the season. It is worth noting that Sainz had already won a race in the 2023 season, despite Red Bull’s dominance. On the other hand, Leclerc’s most recent victory was in Austria in 2022.

While applauding Sainz, Leclerc also took the opportunity to highlight his own talent. He noted that in Formula 1, people tend to quickly forget and judge based on the last race. As a result, Leclerc’s previous performances may not have seemed as impressive compared to Sainz’s. However, he emphasized that his performances in the eight or nine races prior were at an excellent level, surpassing those of Sainz.

Looking to the future, Ferrari has shown consistent performance since the beginning of the 2024 season. The team currently holds the second position, with a significant gap to McLaren. With that in mind, Ferrari intends to consistently challenge Red Bull in the upcoming races.
