Lewis Hamilton Slams Into Controversy: Is He ‘Sitting By’ While Ferrari Crumbles?

Lewis Hamilton Facing Fierce Backlash: “Sitting by and Doing Nothing!”

In a stunning turn of events that has sent shockwaves through the Formula 1 community, Ralf Schumacher has publicly lambasted Lewis Hamilton for his lackluster performance since joining Ferrari, suggesting that the legendary driver has adopted a passive approach during a tumultuous season. With expectations sky-high for the seven-time world champion, the reality has been far from glamorous, leading to intense scrutiny and criticism from pundits and fans alike.

Hamilton, who made the highly-anticipated switch to Ferrari, was expected to inject new life into the Scuderia’s campaign, enhancing their bid for a first constructors’ title since 2008. However, the British star has struggled to make his mark, and Ferrari’s performance has mirrored that struggle, as the SF-25 has been riddled with ride height dilemmas, compelling drivers to lift and coast during crucial moments in races.

As the season nears its conclusion with just three rounds left, Ferrari finds itself in fourth place in the constructors’ standings— a significant drop from the runner-up position they held for a substantial part of the year. Although Charles Leclerc has emerged as a beacon of hope with seven podium finishes, the pressure on Hamilton has intensified, especially as he remains without a single podium finish in his new red attire. In fact, Hamilton now holds the unwanted record for the most races at Ferrari without a podium, surpassing Didier Pironi’s long-standing mark from the early 1980s.

Following a disastrous outing at the São Paulo Grand Prix, where Ferrari suffered a double DNF and could scrape together only six points from the preceding sprint race, Ferrari chairman John Elkann did not hold back in his criticism of the team’s drivers. He urged them to “talk less” and concentrate on delivering results on the track— a message that resonates louder than ever for Hamilton.

Reflecting on the escalating tension within the Ferrari camp, Schumacher commented, “With Lewis Hamilton, it’s pretty clear; that’s the most expensive personnel decision made at Ferrari in recent years. But the performance is not good, and I think that statement was also directed as a warning to Hamilton.” The former F1 racer did not mince words, accusing Hamilton of resting on his laurels and failing to exert the necessary effort to propel the team forward— despite Hamilton’s attempts to address potential areas for improvement through comprehensive documentation.

“After all, he’s had a tendency to sit by and do nothing this year,” Schumacher stated bluntly. “But he’s just not good enough. I believe Ferrari expected more from it, and so did John Elkann. The name did boost the shares, but unfortunately, the results did not.”

As the pressure mounts and the stakes rise, the question lingers: Can Hamilton shake off this scathing criticism and reignite his career with Ferrari, or is this the beginning of a turbulent chapter in the history of one of F1’s greatest legends? The clock is ticking, and fans around the world are waiting with bated breath for the next chapter in this unfolding drama.
