Renovado Renault Captur ganha nova imagem e mais tecnologia

Renault has decided to renew the Captur, a model with over two million units sold in 90 countries, in order to give the small B-segment SUV a more current image, designed by Gilles Vidal.

Thus, the renewed Captur maintains its versatility, two-tone bodywork, generous interior space, as well as a wide range of equipment. In addition to these qualities, which are already part of its DNA, the new generation of the Captur gains a series of new features.

On the exterior, the biggest difference is in the front section which presents an image similar to the Clio, with the monobloc Nouvel’R logo integrated into the multifaceted grille, and a higher and more horizontal hood.

The top of the grille promotes a play of light with its embossed shapes and the contrast between the shiny dark background and the transparent inserts.

For engine cooling, the front features a horizontal air intake above the aerodynamic separator and another in the bumper. Two air intakes positioned on each side of the front ends, next to the daytime running lights, contribute to aerodynamics and brake cooling.

Also note the new front headlights equipped, as standard, with LED technology at all equipment levels. Like in the new Clio, the LED daytime running lights take on a vertical half-diamond shape, freely inspired by the brand logo.

As for the rear section, it stands out for the covers of the tail lights that have become transparent, revealing the interior of the lights. Combined with the new Renault logo and the redesigned diffuser, this feature gives the rear a more contemporary look.

Still regarding the exterior, the renewed Captur now has an Alpine Esprit version, which includes 19’’ wheels and bumpers with more sporty features.

In addition to the variant with a more sporty image, the renewed Captur also presents two more equipment levels, the Evolution version that includes 17-inch wheels, as well as a matte black paint on the lower part of the body and waistline.

As for the Techno version, it features brand new 18-inch alloy wheels and Star Black paint on the lower part of the body and waistline.

In the cabin, the highlight is the more modern image of the OpenR Link multimedia system, which features an instrument panel (up to 10.25 inches) as well as a vertical multimedia system screen with a size of 10.4”.

Through this touch screen, it is possible to access the Android-based operating system, which includes Google services such as Google Maps, Google Assistant, and over 50 Google Play applications, all accessible with a simple touch, just like on a modern smartphone. Additionally, the system is compatible with Android Auto and Apple Carplay for wired and wireless connectivity with smartphones.

In terms of space, the updated Captur features a boot that offers 484 liters of capacity, which can reach 616 liters with the rear seats when the rear bench is moved fully forward.

The boot is modular, benefiting from a rear seat that remains adjustable longitudinally by 16 cm, along with a removable floor that allows for a flat area to be created.

As for the engines, the refreshed Captur does not bring any major changes. At the base of the range is the 3-cylinder 1.0 TCe gasoline engine with 90 hp and a torque of 160 Nm, paired with a six-speed manual gearbox. Next is the variant equipped with a four-cylinder engine, 1.3 TCe, with 160 hp and a torque of 270 Nm, with a

In addition to these, there is also available a variant powered by GPL with a 1.0 TCe engine of 100 hp, associated with a six-speed manual gearbox.

On the other hand, the top of the range is delivered to a full hybrid E-Tech version, with a 1.6-liter gasoline engine and a 36 kW electric motor, allowing a combined power of 145 hp.

The intelligent multi-mode straight-tooth gearbox actually has no clutch. It has 4 gears for the gasoline engine and 2 gears for the main electric motor. Energy efficiency is optimized by the 14 possible combinations of operation between the combustion engine and the electric motor.

In Portugal, the renewed Renault Captur will be available with a range of four engines, including the option of a 145 hp E-Tech full hybrid.

Renault has already revealed that the new Captur will arrive in the national market from the second half of 2024, not having yet disclosed the prices of the B-segment SUV.
