Sergio Perez Shocks F1 World with Ferrari Test: New Team, New Beginnings in 2026!

Sergio Perez Set to Make a Daring Comeback with Ferrari Test Ahead of Cadillac’s F1 Debut

In an electrifying turn of events, Sergio Perez is gearing up to make his long-awaited return to Formula 1 machinery with a thrilling test drive for Ferrari at the Imola circuit this November! This monumental opportunity comes as Cadillac ramps up preparations for its debut in the F1 grid as the 11th team in 2026, featuring the dynamic duo of Perez and Valtteri Bottas, all while powered by Ferrari engines.

The upcoming test, scheduled for November 13-14, will see Perez take the wheel of a 2023 Ferrari F1 car, marking a significant milestone in his career after his last race with Red Bull at the 2024 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The test sessions, reportedly two in total, are designed to solidify the foundations of the new Cadillac team, as they prepare to make their mark in the highly competitive world of F1.

But what makes this test even more enticing is the quirky rule that allows Ferrari to lend its two-year-old machinery to new customer teams. With Cadillac seizing this unique opportunity, they aim to gain invaluable experience on the track and hone their skills under the watchful eye of Ferrari’s mechanics and engineers.

“I’m thrilled about the upcoming Ferrari test,” Perez stated during a recent charity football match in Mexico City. “These sessions will be crucial as we work with the mechanics and engineers to ensure the team is fully prepared for our testing program that kicks off in January 2026. We’ll be at 100 percent very early in the year!”

At 35 years old, Perez is embracing this new chapter with open arms. After a tumultuous end to his time at Red Bull, where he was dropped amid a lackluster performance in the 2024 season, the Mexican driver sees his partnership with Cadillac as a golden opportunity to rewrite his narrative and cement his legacy in the sport.

“It’s always great to be part of a team that listens to you, supports you, and values your input,” Perez reflected, highlighting the positive environment at Cadillac. “That’s what every driver dreams of having.”

As Perez prepares to face the challenges ahead, all eyes will be on him to see if he can turn the tide and lead Cadillac into a new era of F1 racing. With his wealth of experience and determination to succeed, the stage is set for a thrilling comeback!

Stay tuned as the world watches Perez and Cadillac embark on this exhilarating journey to redefine the future of Formula 1 racing.
