Marcas de automóveis mais valiosas do mundo: topo do ranking mantém-se… mas com perda de valor

The 2025 report on the 100 most valuable brands in the world, published by the American consultancy Interbrand for 26 years, did not bring major news regarding the top spots on the table – neither in absolute terms nor relative to the automotive industry in particular. In the first position of the Top 5 remains Toyota (6th place overall), followed by Mercedes (10th overall), BMW (14th overall), Tesla (25th overall), and Honda (29th overall).

A more detailed analysis allows for other conclusions. For example, that most of the most valuable car brands on the planet lost value compared to the previous year, particularly Mercedes (-15%), BMW (-0%), and Tesla (-35%). The most significant exceptions are Toyota (+2%, to $74.2 billion, still far behind the $470.9 billion valuation of Apple, the absolute leader of the ranking…), Hyundai (+6.9%), Ferrari (+17.8%), and Xiaomi (+18.4%). It is also worth mentioning BYD, which, in this report, shows significant progress it has made in recent years: it enters the list for the first time, in 14th place (90th in the “overall”).

It is worth mentioning that among the 100 most valuable brands in the world, there are fifteen directly linked to the automotive sector, although one of them is highly supported, in terms of recognition as well as value, by its activities in other domains, especially technology: Xiaomi, in 11th place (81st overall). Below are the fifteen car brands present in the study, their respective value, and their evolution compared to 2024 – with the value of a brand tending to be a fundamental measure to assess its recognition, financial health, and ability to adapt to market conditions.
