Regarding the recent update received by the popular compact SUV from the Spanish sports brand, a new edition has just been announced, limited to 4,000 units worldwide (and, for the first time, also available with right-hand drive), of its iconic top version: the Cupra Formentor VZ5. With production scheduled to begin (in Barcelona, where it was also developed) in the first quarter of 2026, it combines high performance, cutting-edge technology, and an enhanced appearance that aligns with its purpose.
The focal element of the most aggressive Formentor continues to be the 2.5 TSI turbocharged engine, with its very characteristic and stimulating sound, capable of delivering 390 hp (287 kW) of power and a maximum torque of 480 Nm. Tuned to provide an even more thrilling driving experience, it is paired with a DSG dual-clutch seven-speed transmission, which transmits power to the wheels through an all-wheel drive system, featuring torque distribution technology, including lateral torque control, for precise power distribution across all wheels and greater stability in corners.
Visually, and on the exterior, the updates include the distinctive front bumper, the front splitter with the VZ5 logo engraved, wider wheel arches, and the new rear bumpers and diffuser—not forgetting the diagonal copper exhaust tips. Also exclusive are the 20” wheels in a copper tone, with their characteristic VZ5 design; the Cupra lettering in dark bronze; and a color palette, either metallic or matte, that includes the options Midnight Black, Dark Void, Magnetic Tech Grey Matte, Century Bronze Matte, and Enceladus Grey Matte.
