Genesis GV60 Magma conclui testes finais de desempenho

Genesis announced that it has completed the final tests of the electric GV60 Magma, the brand’s first high-performance model, which will be unveiled at the end of the year.

The model underwent a rigorous testing plan that took place in quite varied atmospheric conditions, from the deserts of California to the mountains of New Zealand and the cold temperatures of Sweden.

Designed to open a new chapter in the luxury high-performance segment, the GV60 Magma is the first electric vehicle from Genesis’s performance sub-brand, and it will feature enhanced power, advanced suspension, a new sporty design, and much more.

To achieve this goal, the brand’s engineers subjected the GV60 Magma to an intense testing plan to refine its driving dynamics and deliver exciting performance and refined comfort.

First presented as a concept at the 2024 New York Auto Show, the GV60 Magma is based on Hyundai Motor Group’s E-GMP platform and is closely related to the Ioniq 5.

The GV60 Magma is lower and wider than the existing versions of the electric crossover GV60, with 21-inch wheels designed to channel air to the brake discs and improve performance.

At the front, a wider and lower main air intake in the bumper contributes to the cooling of the batteries, engine, and brakes, while the air curtains improve the aerodynamic efficiency of this prototype. The rear features a large wing and diffuser.

In terms of powertrain, all indications suggest that the GV60 Magma will use the same battery and electric motors as the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, namely, an 84.0 kWh capacity battery that powers two electric motors delivering a combined output of 641 hp.

We just have to wait until the end of the year to learn more about this new Genesis GV60 Magma in detail.
