BMW vai recolher mais de 196 mil veículos nos EUA

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced this Friday that BMW will recall 196,355 vehicles in the U.S. due to a problem with the engine start button.

The NHTSA stated that the button in question may “suffer corrosion and overheat, causing a short circuit, increasing the risk of fire”.

The problem may affect certain BMW models, including the 330i manufactured between 2019 and 2021, Z4 2019-2022, 530i, X3, X4 2020-2022, as well as the BMW 430i 2021-2022, 430i convertible, and the 230i from 2022.

BMW has already informed that it will send letters to the owners of these models starting on November 14 to inform them about the issue. “Owners are advised to park their vehicles outside and away from structures until the problem is resolved,” the NHTSA said in its recall alert, reminding that “the brand’s dealers will replace the engine start button system free of charge.”
