Ryan Blaney Celebrates Victory and a Stylish Gift from Michael Jordan at New Hampshire Showdown!
In an electrifying weekend at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway, NASCAR star Ryan Blaney not only clinched a prestigious win but also unveiled an exclusive gift from basketball legend Michael Jordan! The Team Penske driver took to Kevin Harvick’s ‘Happy Hour’ podcast, revealing the long-awaited arrival of his very first pair of iconic Jordans after a six-month wait!
Blaney’s triumph at the Mobil 1 301 has catapulted him to the pinnacle of the playoff standings, securing a coveted spot in the final eight. With his eyes set on the upcoming Las Vegas race, this victory marks his incredible third consecutive top-5 result, proving that the No. 12 driver is a force to be reckoned with this season.
“I had my first pair of Jordans this weekend,” Blaney exclaimed, brimming with excitement. “I’ve been bugging Michael Jordan for a pair for probably six months and finally got them sent to me. Wore them for the first time this weekend in practice. The soles were a little different, so I had to spend about 10, 15 laps in practice, kind of getting used to the different soles on them.”
Blaney couldn’t help but express his admiration for the basketball icon, stating, “And yeah, those things are one for one. So they have a good track record, and it’s pretty cool to do that. I’ve been really lucky to have created a friendship with MJ.”
The New Hampshire track has proven to be a stronghold for Blaney and his team, as fellow competitor Kyle Larson commented on Blaney’s impressive performance, noting he was “flying” while making bold passes. Larson also acknowledged Josh Berry as a formidable rival, adding to the intensity of the race.
In the closing laps, Blaney faced fierce competition from Josh Berry, who had opted to stay out during a caution caused by Cody Ware’s crash. Berry, despite being on older tires, managed to keep pace with the No. 12 Ford. However, his race took a turn when he missed a corner and slid up the track on lap 288, allowing Blaney to seize control and ultimately cross the finish line first.
Reflecting on his thrilling duel with Berry, Blaney shared, “21 car’s (Josh Berry) fast at the end. Josh, he got me scared; I got loose bad at the end. Took everything I had to hold him back for as long as I could. But cool effort. Really appreciate everybody for pitching in and cool to win this one.”
Next on Blaney’s agenda is the Kansas Speedway, where he will tackle 267 laps around the challenging 1.5-mile track. Although he hasn’t yet logged a win at Kansas, his podium finish in the last outing has fans buzzing with anticipation.
Mark your calendars! The high-stakes race is set to take place on Sunday, September 28, at 3 PM ET. As Ryan Blaney rides this wave of momentum, can he add another victory to his impressive resume? Stay tuned!
