Honda announced that it will launch the hands-free personal mobility device UNI-ONE, with sales starting this week in Japan for corporate customers.
The UNI-ONE is a personal mobility device that does not require the use of hands and can be controlled solely by body movement, allowing the user to move in all directions as if walking, keeping their hands free.
Honda expects the UNI-ONE to be used in various situations, including for transporting customers in designated areas within certain facilities, or assisting individuals, including the elderly, to improve performance and increase productivity in offices and other workplaces.
Developed with technologies created through its research in robotics, including the humanoid robot ASIMO, the UNI-ONE has been classified as a “small mobility vehicle,” and can legally operate in public areas at a maximum speed of 6 km/h.
It is already known that the Sanrio Harmonyland theme park in Japan will be the first location to offer the UNI-ONE, starting from October 19, allowing visitors, including the elderly and those with reduced mobility, to enjoy the rides with greater comfort.
