A well-known “hacker” from the Tesla community stated that he discovered detailed specifications of the low-cost version of the Model Y, which Elon Musk confirmed in July will be launched by the end of 2025.
According to what the “hacker” revealed on social media, the simplified model of the electric SUV, internally known as E41, will use more economical materials and will forgo some features.
Simplified model Y "E41" that was sighted live now appears in the firmware too.

They will have two audio options: "essential" and "essential with commodity"
Backup camera would lose a heater
no "airwave" in console
E41 fascia (performance will also get a fascia update)
The same source adds that the low-cost model does not have a glass roof, electric rearview mirrors, as well as tire pressure monitoring systems and 18” steel wheels, replacing the current 19” and 20” ones.
Inside, the new model gives up multi-directional electric seat controls, limiting itself to a single-axis adjustment. Additionally, Tesla will also limit the audio system to a basic version.
Other cuts include the omission of a heating system for the reverse camera and the complete absence of a screen for the second row of seats. Instead of high-quality materials, Tesla opts for simple fabric headliner, complemented by 18” steel wheels. The cuts also include a revised front section and simplified chassis components.
Remember that in July, Tesla announced that it started production of some units, and that mass production of the new low-cost model was expected in the second half of 2025.
