Expansão europeia da Xpeng chega ao mercado nacional com três modelos elétricos

XPeng is the latest Chinese brand to start producing its cars in Europe, in order to circumvent the tariffs imposed by the European Union on electric vehicles produced in the Asian country.

Thus, XPeng officially inaugurated its first European production line at the Magna Steyr factory in Graz, Austria, where it produces the two SUVs in its range, the G6 and G9.

This strategic step for XPeng aims to accelerate the local production of electric vehicles in Europe, while also allowing the Chinese brand to advance its expansion strategy in the European market.

It should be noted that the Magna Steyr factory in Graz is one of the most well-known contract manufacturing plants in Europe, having produced vehicles for various global brands, including Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Jaguar Land Rover, and Toyota.

The factory specializes in flexible production, from low to medium volume, and is recognized for handling the complex assembly of various models on shared lines, allowing automotive companies without their own factories in Europe to localize production.

In addition to the start of production at the Austrian factory, XPeng recently inaugurated its first European research and development center in Munich, Germany. This new unit of the company aims to foster innovation in mobility with Artificial Intelligence and collaborate closely with European drivers, ensuring that their needs are reflected in future innovations in mobility.
