Nova geração do Micra já roda nas estradas europeias

Nissan announced that the new generation of the Micra has hit the roads for the first time, which happened in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

The new generation of the popular hatchback, which has sold more than six million units since its launch in 1983, that is, 42 years ago, now appears as a “twin” of the electric Renault 5, meaning that for the first time the Micra will not have combustion engine versions, thus reinforcing Nissan’s electric product offensive in Europe, where the company will introduce four new fully electric models by 2027, as part of its push for electrification.

Based on the AmpR platform, the new generation of the Micra offers two battery options: 40 kWh with a range of up to 317 km (WLTP cycle) and 52 kWh with a range of up to 416 km.

Both variants support fast DC charging (up to 100 kW), with V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) capability to power small devices — and are ready for V2G (Vehicle-to-Grid) integration soon.

“The dynamic, agile, and comfortable performance of the new Micra is being experienced for the first time on European roads! With up to 416 km of range and fast charging at 100 kW, I am sure that drivers behind the wheel will fall in love with this new model. And with a new playful and bold design, it will certainly attract attention”, said Clíodhna Lyons, regional vice president of Product and Services Planning at Nissan AMIEO.

Described with a design “bold and assertive, with plenty of attitude,” the new look of the Micra is inspired by the 2002 model, featuring a front marked by circular daytime running lights at both ends. Upon unlocking the car, the lights perform a short choreography of “welcome blinks”, where the front lights pulse from left to right and then from right to left. The same light show occurs when locking the car, functioning as a “farewell.” At the rear, the lights are defined by a simple yet ornate design of LED lights – with circular lighting elements.

The new Micra features some details that give it a robust and solid stance, including pronounced wheel arches and a distinctive lower spoiler that suggests a lower center of gravity.

The interior of the new Micra is very similar to that of the Renault 5, making use of the same 10.1’’ screens, the same buttons, and the same materials. The upholstery of the front and rear seats varies according to the version, but offers three distinct finishes to adapt to your preferred interior environment for a premium touch – Modern, Audacious, and Chill.

To further complement the interior, there is adjustable ambient lighting that allows the driver to choose from 48 different colors and create a setting in the cabin that truly reflects their mood.

Also noteworthy is the storage space of the new generation Micra, which offers a trunk with a capacity of 326 liters, which can reach up to 1106 liters with 40/60 split-folding rear seats.
