XPeng prepara lançamento de G7 de autonomia alargada

After presenting the renewed P7, XPeng has now submitted a request to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China (MIIT) for a new variant of the G7 SUV with extended range, thus expanding its investment in the hybrid vehicle sector.

The MIIT has already released for public comment the latest catalog of vehicles that will soon be approved for sale, which includes the XPeng G7 EREV version.

The new five-seat SUV from XPeng, based on the 100% electric version, measures 4.918 meters in length, 1.92 m in width, 1.65 m in height, and has a wheelbase of 2.89 m.

Thus, the new extended range version of the G7 is 4892 mm longer than the fully electric variant of the G7, while other dimensions remain identical.

The new SUV from XPeng is equipped with a 1.5 L gasoline engine from Harbin Dongan Auto Engine, which serves as a range extender, providing a maximum power of 147 hp. The electric motor has a maximum power of 292 hp and is combined with a 55.8 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, allowing for an electric range of 325 km in the generous Chinese CLTC cycle. Meanwhile, the top speed is 202 km/h.

As a reference, it is good to remember that the 100% electric version of the G7 is equipped with a rear synchronous motor with permanent magnets, with a maximum power of 292 hp and a maximum torque of 450 Nm, which combines with 5C lithium iron phosphate batteries of 68.5 kWh and 80.8 kWh, providing a corresponding range of 602 km and 702 km in the CLTC cycle.

Remember that the G7 with range extender is the second hybrid model registered by XPeng after it presented the X9 in August, a minivan that uses lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries supplied by Eve Energy, of 68.5 kWh and 80.8 kWh, providing a corresponding range of 602 km and 702 km in CLTC mode.
