Novo Mercedes-AMG custa mais de €679 mil e só pode ser conduzido em pista

The portfolio of Mercedes-AMG Motorsport continues to grow and now includes a new highly attractive and powerful model that can only be driven on the track.

This is the Mercedes-AMG GT2 Edition W16, a sports model inspired, as it could not be otherwise, by the Formula 1 single-seater, and limited to only 30 units, featuring a striking visual with colorful paint and a hand-painted star pattern that wraps around the rear.

Furthermore, this sports model bearing the AMG stamp is equipped with 18’’ magnesium wheels with a central lock and green details, just like the F1 single-seater.

Announced as an “additional development,” the updates of this Edition W16 are not just aesthetic, as the sports model also features a set of aerodynamic adjustments, highlighted by larger front splitters, exclusive rearview mirrors, a carbon fiber rear spoiler, and active shutters above the front wheels.

The W16 is also equipped with a drag reduction system, which allows the shutters to close and the rear wing to fold down to enable a maximum speed exceeding 320 km/h.

Inside, the highlights include the new steering wheel, emerald green details, matte carbon fiber finish, and the “1 of 30” badge on the center console. The exclusivity of this limited edition is further complemented by the signature of Kimi Antonelli, Mercedes F1 driver, on the door sills. Additionally, this sports car, designed solely for the track, features a carbon fiber safety cell, safety nets, a fire extinguishing system, an emergency hatch, and a five-point seatbelt, all designed with competition in mind.

Under the hood, AMG engineers installed an updated 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, producing up to 830 hp and 1000 Nm of maximum torque, which is 122 hp more than the standard model, benefiting from new turbochargers and revised electronics.

However, AMG has equipped this Edition W16 with the exclusive Push2Pass function, which allows for a temporary increase in turbo pressure, meaning an increase in power by 100 hp and torque by 200 Nm. This powerful V8 features a six-speed sequential racing transmission with modified gear ratios.

To make this limited edition of the Mercedes-AMG GT2 Edition W16 even more special, the German brand has decided to deliver the model on a European track to each of the 30 customers, who will receive a “detailed vehicle briefing,” in addition to being able to test the Edition W16 alongside drivers from the Mercedes F1 team.

As for prices, the new Mercedes-AMG GT2 Edition W16 can be yours for €679,000.00, price excluding VAT.
