Mercedes-Benz prepara regresso do Classe G Cabrio

Mercedes-Benz will expand the G-Class range with a new convertible version, having already revealed a first teaser of the new model.

The image now revealed shows that the new G-Class will be a “soft-top” variant of the current generation of the well-known Mercedes-Benz off-road model, with a profile that vaguely resembles the Mercedes-Maybach G50 Laudaulet.

The new model, which will be a global offering, is expected to present engine options similar to those of the current model, which means there may be a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine with 449 hp and 559 Nm of maximum torque, as well as a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with 585 hp and 849 Nm of torque, along with a Diesel variant with 367 hp.

It is also not hard to imagine that the new G-Class convertible will hit the market with an EQ variant featuring four electric motors for a combined power of 587 hp and 1163 Nm of torque, along with a 116 kWh battery.

Mercedes-Benz is expected to reveal more details about the new G-Class next week at the Munich Motor Show in Germany, and the launch of the new model is set to take place in 2026.
