Xiaomi continues to be a success story among the new Chinese electric vehicle brands, having announced that in August it surpassed 30,000 units sold for the second consecutive month.

The brand, which has not yet begun its international expansion and offers a range of three models: SU7, SU7 Ultra, and YU7, the latter launched at the end of June, continues to grow in the Chinese market, having opened 18 new stores in August, bringing the total to 370 units in 105 Chinese cities.

By the end of August, the company also operated 189 service points in 112 cities. In September, Xiaomi plans to add another 32 stores in 14 more cities, including Tangshan and Taizhou.

Alongside the growth in sales, Xiaomi continues to expand its factory in Beijing to increase production, which recently led the founder and CEO of the company, Lei Jun, to set a sales target of 350,000 units for 2025.

Internal planning indicates an expectation to reach between 400,000 and 500,000 units next year, with the potential to exceed 800,000 units in 2026. Despite the success in China, Xiaomi has made it clear that the international expansion of its models is not expected to occur until 2027, as according to Lei Jun, the company needs to focus on the domestic market until then, due to the strong order backlog for its SU7 and YU7 models.
