VIDEO: David Malukas Miraculously Released from Hospital After Harrowing IndyCar Crash in Nashville

Shocking Crash at Music City Grand Prix: David Malukas Airlifted but Released After Hospital Scare!

In a heart-stopping moment during the Music City Grand Prix, rising IndyCar star David Malukas found himself in a terrifying predicament that left fans and officials alike holding their breath. The young driver was involved in a heavy crash on lap 83, which saw his #4 car violently slamming into the Turn 2 wall after contact with rookie Louis Foster.

The incident occurred as Malukas was attempting to navigate around Foster, who was up against the wall. Their high-speed encounter led to Malukas spinning backwards into the barrier, resulting in a dramatic scene that left him momentarily immobilized on the track. In a courageous display of resilience, Malukas climbed from his vehicle but appeared to be moving with great caution, prompting immediate medical attention.

He was swiftly airlifted to a local hospital for precautionary checks, with the racing community on edge about his condition. Dr. Julia Vaizer, who attended to Malukas, provided a sigh of relief, stating, “David is doing well. He’s awake, he’s alert. He is in really good spirits. We’re just sending him down to our trauma center for some precautionary evaluation and advanced imaging.”

In a twist of fate, just a few hours after the dramatic crash, Malukas was released from the hospital, although details regarding any potential injuries were not disclosed, leaving fans eager for updates. Fellow driver Louis Foster expressed relief at Malukas’ condition, saying, “Want to make sure he’s okay. I’ve heard that he is somewhat okay. That’s good to hear. I’ll text him after to make sure he’s okay.”

The unfortunate collision raised questions about the fierce competition on the track, with Foster commenting on the incident, “For me, we were trying to stay on the lead lap. I held my line. He turned down into me. I couldn’t do a lot about it. I think he tried to chop across in front of me expecting me to back out of it more than I did.” He added, “He hit my front right. Luckily I didn’t get any damage. Luckily he’s somewhat okay. Yeah, unfortunate.”

As the final race of the 2025 season wrapped up, the silver lining for Malukas is the ample time he has to recover during the offseason. His fans and the entire IndyCar community are undoubtedly relieved to hear he’s on the path to recovery after such a harrowing ordeal. Stay tuned for more updates as the young driver recuperates and prepares for his next racing challenge!
