Britânica Longbow apresenta dois modelos desportivos elétricos

The British electric sports car startup Longbow has secured some of the most prominent names in the automotive industry to help realize the project.

The former CEO of McLaren, Mike Flewitt, the former CEO of Lotus Europe, Dan Balmer, and Michael van der Sande, whose resume includes stints at Lucid Europe, the special projects division of Jaguar Land Rover, and as CEO of Alpine, have joined the advisory board of Longbow. The company was co-founded by engineer Daniel Davey, who brings experience from Lucid and Tesla.

Longbow is working on two similar electric sports vehicles, built on the company’s own aluminum electric architecture. The first is scheduled to begin production in the UK in 2027.

This is the Speedster, a two-seater model with rear-wheel drive, no windshield, with a target weight of an incredible 895 kg, a promised acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds, and a range of up to 443 km.

Later, the Roadster is expected, weighing 995 kg, and announcing a range of up to 451 km, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds.

Both models are built with a custom aluminum chassis that Longbow claims is optimized for low weight and high rigidity. In addition, the British brand revealed that other components, such as the motors and batteries, can also be lighter.

Longbow also announced that the Speedster will have a limited production run of 150 units, while the Roadster will have a larger production volume, although the company did not disclose the exact number of units to be produced. However, the first units of both models promise to be special vehicles and will therefore receive the designation of Luminary 1st Edition and Autograph Edition.

“We have plans and ideas, but what needs to be done is to verify everything with people who have done this work before”, said Daniel Davey, to justify the new acquisitions for Longbow.
