Fábricas da Hyundai na Rússia retomam produção em janeiro com novo proprietário

Hyundai is preparing to unveil the new Ioniq 2 at the Munich Motor Show, which takes place in September, a model that will compete with the new electric Renault 4.

The arrival of a 100% electric model with the dimensions of the Bayon aims to expand Hyundai’s electric range and, at the same time, attract younger customers to the South Korean brand’s electrification strategy.

The images already revealed of the test model show that the new Ioniq 2 is an offering aimed at the growing segment of electric hatchbacks, occupying a place between the compact Inster and the Kauai Electric in Hyundai’s current lineup of six fully electric vehicles.

“We are very engaged with the electrification of our range and in increasing our electrified offerings in the coming years”, acknowledged Xavier Martinet, president and CEO of Hyundai Motor Europe, in an interview with “Autocar.”

It is already known that the new Ioniq 2 will be built on the E-GMP platform used by nearly all electric vehicles of the Hyundai Motor Group, which includes Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis.

In this sense, it is likely that the Ioniq 2 will have a configuration similar to that of the Kia EV3, with batteries of 58.3 kWh or 81.4 kWh capacity and a single motor with 201 hp.

Although everything points to Hyundai revealing the new Ioniq 2 at the Munich Motor Show, the model is not expected to hit the market until 2026.
