Pierre Gasly Breaks Silence on Yuki Tsunoda’s Struggles at Red Bull: “I Know Things That Can’t Be Said”

In a dramatic revelation that has sent shockwaves through the Formula 1 community, Pierre Gasly has stepped forward to shed light on the tumultuous journey of Yuki Tsunoda at Red Bull. The Alpine driver, who once experienced his own trials and tribulations with the prestigious team, has expressed deep empathy for Tsunoda’s current plight—a stark contrast to the expectations the young Japanese driver faced upon joining the powerhouse team.

Tsunoda, 25, has had a nightmarish debut at Red Bull, securing a mere seven points in the first twelve races of the season, and shockingly remaining scoreless for the last seven Grands Prix. After stepping into the second seat, replacing Liam Lawson just two races into the season, Tsunoda has struggled to find his footing, mirroring the misfortunes of previous drivers who have donned the Red Bull jersey.

Gasly, who raced alongside Tsunoda at AlphaTauri, has revealed that he is doing everything in his power to support his fellow driver during this challenging period. However, in a twist of intrigue, he hinted at undisclosed details about his own experiences at Red Bull that could shed light on Tsunoda’s situation but chose to keep them under wraps. “It’s not easy being in Yuki’s position,” Gasly stated with palpable concern.

Speaking exclusively to RacingNews365, the 29-year-old former Red Bull driver admitted that while he possesses insights into the inner workings of the team, the professional code of conduct prevents him from sharing certain truths. “What’s tricky is my time; a lot of things can’t be said. You’re working for a team, and as a professional, you can’t divulge all the specifics,” Gasly explained, hinting at a web of complexities behind the scenes that could be impacting Tsunoda’s performance.

Gasly’s cryptic comments didn’t stop there. He acknowledged his role as a confidant and friend to Tsunoda, emphasizing that while he can offer advice based on his own experiences, the ultimate responsibility lies with Tsunoda and the team to navigate this stormy period. “I just try to chat as a friend and advise on stuff that may help him,” Gasly said, underscoring the importance of personal support during such a critical juncture in Tsunoda’s career.

With the recent Hungarian Grand Prix marking a low point for both Tsunoda and the team, the pressure continues to mount. Fans and analysts alike are left wondering if Tsunoda can turn this ship around or if he is destined to follow the same troubling path as others who have come before him. As Gasly aptly stated, “It’s not easy to be in this situation,” and the weight of expectation from Red Bull is heavy on the shoulders of the young driver.

As Tsunoda battles for redemption on the track, all eyes will be on Gasly’s support and the team dynamics at play. Can Yuki Tsunoda rise above the challenges? Only time will tell, but one thing is for certain: the Formula 1 world is watching closely, and the stakes couldn’t be higher.
