Lucro da holding Porsche recuam 15,6% para €1068 milhões no 1.º trimestre

Porsche is set to add a new compact SUV to its lineup, which is already in development and is expected to hit the market by the end of the decade.

During a videoconference with analysts at the end of July, Oliver Blume, CEO of Porsche, clarified that the brand will “have a new SUV with versions equipped with a combustion engine, as well as hybrid system variants by 2028 at the latest.” The new model will be launched in all markets, according to Blume, who did not specify whether a hybrid or plug-in hybrid propulsion system would be used.

According to “Automotive News Europe”, the new model will likely utilize the new PPC (Premium Platform Combustion) platform, developed by Audi and debuted in the new Q5, which supports 2.0 turbo engines, V6 with a 48V hybrid system, as well as plug-in hybrid versions in some markets. “We are accelerating the process with very short development times to create a typical Porsche for this segment, which will be different from the electric Macan,” said Blume.

Furthermore, the CEO of Porsche confirmed that a 100% electric version of the Cayenne SUV is planned for next year. The new electric model will complement the range consisting of combustion engine versions, as well as plug-in hybrid variants.

“We believe that, especially in the SUV segment, we will have a complete and flexible range of products between the Macan and the Cayenne in all propulsion variants”, said Blume.
