BYD has returned to lead the sales chart for 100% electric passenger cars in the national market.

In the seventh month of 2025, 3,632 light passenger vehicles that are 100% electric were sold in the national market, with a clear highlight on BYD, which once again led the sales table, repeating the achievement of May.

According to data from the Automobile Association of Portugal (ACAP), the Chinese manufacturer of new energy vehicles ended the month of July as the monthly sales leader in 100% electric light passenger vehicles in Portugal, with a total of 394 registered units, representing a growth of 38.2% compared to the same month last year.

From January to July, BYD has already sold 2,529 units, which represents a growth of 105.8% compared to the same period in 2024.

BMW again occupied the second position in the sales of fully electric passenger models in July with 377 new vehicles registered, an increase of 10.9% compared to the same month last year.

On its part, Peugeot occupied the third position in the sales table, with 306 units sold, a decrease of 35.7% compared to the same month in 2024.

Notably, Tesla, after returning to the top of the sales table in June, occupied the fifth position in July’s ranking, with 284 vehicles, regressing by 48.5% compared to July of last year.

The 10 best-selling brands of 100% electric light passenger vehicles in July:

2 – BMW – 377 units
3 – Peugeot – 306 units
4 – Volvo – 288 units
5 – Tesla – 284 units
6 – Mercedes-Benz – 202 units
7 – Renault – 149 units
8 – Citroën – 137 units
9 – MG – 119 units
10 – Audi – 114 units
