New Zealand Prodigy Louie Sharp Stuns FIA F3 World with Unprecedented Record-breaking Feat

A young racing prodigy from New Zealand has taken the motorsport world by storm, shattering records and turning heads at the FIA F3 round in Hungary. Louie Sharp, a rising star in the racing scene, has made history by setting a new Formula 3 record during the Hungarian Grand Prix support races.

Driving for Rodin Motorsport in his debut season of FIA F3, the 18-year-old sensation is not new to success, as he is the reigning GB3 champion and clinched the British F4 title in 2023 – a feat accomplished by the likes of Lando Norris in his early career.

Despite starting from the 28th position in the wet feature race on Sunday, Sharp displayed unparalleled skill and determination, storming through the field to an impressive 11th place finish. With a remarkable gain of 17 positions in the feature race and a total of 29 overtakes throughout the weekend, Sharp’s performance is being hailed as one of the most spectacular displays of driving in F3 history.

Overcoming car troubles that affected his straight-line speed, Sharp found himself at a disadvantage during qualifying, starting from the 28th spot on the grid. However, his resilience and exceptional racing prowess were evident as he showcased his talent by securing a best finish of fourth in the Imola Sprint.

In a post-race interview, Sharp expressed his frustration with the recurring issues affecting his qualifying performances but remained confident in his driving abilities, stating, “I’m not a P28 driver.” His ability to make significant progress in both dry and wet conditions highlighted his adaptability and racing acumen, earning him accolades for his daring overtakes and strategic maneuvers on the track.

As the motorsport world buzzes with excitement over Louie Sharp’s record-breaking achievements in Hungary, fans and experts alike are eagerly anticipating his future performances and the continued rise of this extraordinary young talent in the world of racing.
