Sainz descreve progresso que levou ao retorno vitorioso na F1 australiana.

Carlos Sainz Jr, Spanish driver of Scuderia Ferrari, made an impressive comeback at the Australian Grand Prix, just over two weeks after undergoing an appendectomy. Despite the challenging recovery process, Sainz showcased his exceptional skills and secured his third victory in a Grand Prix.

Ordinary people find it impossible to recover from invasive surgery and immediately jump into a high-performance racing car capable of withstanding intense G-forces. However, Formula 1 drivers are extraordinary athletes who have the ability to overcome these obstacles.

Sainz relied on guidance from experts and followed a strict recovery regimen to ensure he was in optimal condition for the race in Australia. His efforts paid off, as he achieved a well-deserved victory, practically unchallenged due to Max Verstappen’s early retirement. After the race, Sainz shared his recovery journey post-surgery in Jeddah.

“After my appendix removal, I turned to the internet and consulted professionals to find out how I could speed up my recovery process. I researched various methods, such as wound healing and scar tissue management, seeking advice from other athletes and doctors both in Spain and internationally.”

Sainz acknowledged that athletes have an advantage in terms of recovery time compared to the average person. His ability to fully dedicate himself to the healing process allows for a quicker recovery.

“Together with my team, I developed a comprehensive plan. Athletes recover faster because they can dedicate their entire day, every day, to the recovery process. I included sessions in a hyperbaric chamber twice a day for an hour, in addition to using an Indiba electromagnetic machine for wound healing. I meticulously timed my time in bed, walks, meals, and even the specific foods needed for a quick recovery. Every aspect of my routine revolved around improving my recovery to ensure I was fully prepared for the Australian Grand Prix.”

Despite initial concerns about his ability to compete at Albert Park, Sainz was pleasantly surprised by the rapid improvement in his recovery during the preparation for the Australian Grand Prix. This positive development was predicted by experts, including Williams’ Alex Albon, who underwent a similar recovery plan after having his appendix removed during the 2022 Italian Grand Prix. Just nine days earlier, Sainz had doubts about his participation, as he was struggling even to move due to his abdominal condition. However, upon arriving in Australia, he noticed a significant improvement in his condition. Each passing day brought more progress than the previous week, as confirmed by medical professionals and Albon himself. Sainz followed their advice and developed a successful recovery plan.
