BYD, the world’s leading manufacturer of new energy vehicles and electric batteries, ranked 91st on the Fortune Global 500 list for 2025, released at the end of July.
After holding the 143rd position in 2024, BYD has now entered the top 100 of this prestigious publication for the first time.
It is worth noting that the Chinese brand achieved synergistic growth across its four industries in 2024, recording an annual revenue of approximately €94 billion, a 29% increase compared to the previous year.
Additionally, BYD also set a new record in sales of new energy vehicles, reaching 4.27 million units for the year, which represents a growth of 41% compared to the previous year.
This performance secured BYD the position of global champion in sales of new energy passenger vehicles for the third consecutive year, demonstrating strong resilience in the market and high-quality growth.
This year, BYD has accelerated its global expansion, with sales outside of China of passenger vehicles and pick-ups surpassing 470,000 units in the first half of the year. The company’s overseas expansion efforts also include the establishment of its European headquarters in Hungary, the launch of its first vehicle at its factory in Brazil, and the delivery of its 90,000th new energy vehicle in Thailand.
