FIA Shocks F1 World with Dramatic Changes to Hungarian Grand Prix Circuit

The FIA has just dropped a bombshell by announcing major changes to the F1 circuit in Budapest just before the Hungarian Grand Prix kicks off this weekend. As the 2025 F1 season hits the Hungaroring for its 40th anniversary as an F1 host, the stakes couldn’t be higher for the 14th round of the championship before the annual summer hiatus.

Last year’s Hungarian Grand Prix saw tensions flare between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton, culminating in a dramatic collision on the main straight. However, the FIA is determined to avoid a repeat of such incidents this year by implementing a series of modifications to the Budapest circuit.

The main straight and pit lane have been given a fresh coat of asphalt, while the grass strip exit at Turn 5 has been transformed into a gravel strip for added safety. Concrete blocks with fences have been strategically placed at Turn 14 on the left-hand side until the bridge, and adjustments to the white line alignment at Turn 7 aim to enhance the racing experience.

With defending champion Oscar Piastri returning to the scene of his maiden grand prix victory, all eyes are on the young Australian driver to see if he can replicate his success. Piastri, currently leading the drivers’ standings by a mere 16 points over his rival Lando Norris, will be looking to solidify his position at the top with a strong performance in this weekend’s 70-lap showdown.

As the anticipation builds for the Hungarian Grand Prix, fans and experts alike are left wondering if we will witness another Verstappen-Hamilton showdown on the track. The stage is set for a thrilling race filled with excitement, drama, and intense competition. Stay tuned as the F1 action unfolds at the iconic Hungaroring circuit.
