Red Bull Shocker: Christian Horner Sacked by Helmut Marko!

In a stunning turn of events, Helmut Marko has dropped a bombshell by revealing the shocking reason behind the sacking of Christian Horner by Red Bull. The motorsport advisor for Red Bull GmbH has disclosed that the decision to let go of Horner was primarily due to the team’s drastic drop in performance.

After an incredible run in 2023 and the beginning of 2024, where Red Bull emerged victorious in 28 out of 32 races, the team has only managed to secure four wins in the last 27 races. This decline has put Max Verstappen’s world championship title defense in jeopardy, with the Dutch driver trailing behind leader Oscar Piastri by a staggering 81 points.

Marko pointed out that Horner’s dismissal was a direct result of these performance struggles, despite facing and being acquitted of allegations of inappropriate behavior, which he vehemently denied. The decision to part ways with Horner was made by Oliver Mintzlaff and was communicated to him shortly after the Silverstone race in London.

“We also immediately thanked him for the past 20 years and the eight world titles,” Marko revealed in an interview with Sky DE. “The sacking was a consequence of all kinds of things, but mainly because of the fact that the performance was mostly not good recently.”

The appointment of Laurent Mekies as Horner’s successor signals a shift in focus towards racing, with Mekies set to take on fewer responsibilities than his predecessor. As Red Bull aims to bounce back from this setback, all eyes are now on the team’s future under new leadership.

Stay tuned for more updates and expert analysis on this shocking development in the world of Formula 1!
