Red Bull’s New Boss Unleashes Fury on RB21 Updates: Urgent Revamp Ahead

In a shocking turn of events at Red Bull Racing, the new boss, Laurent Mekies, didn’t mince words when addressing the updates needed for the struggling RB21. Taking over from the ousted Christian Horner, Mekies found himself thrust into the spotlight during the Belgian Grand Prix, where the deficiencies of the RB21 were glaringly apparent.

While Mekies acknowledged some improvements in the car’s performance, he was quick to point out the significant gap still existing between Red Bull and its rivals McLaren, Mercedes, and Ferrari. The pressure is on for Mekies to turn things around and bring Red Bull back to dominance in the Formula 1 arena.

The abrupt departure of Horner, a fixture at Red Bull for two decades, paved the way for Mekies to step into the top role. With years of experience in motorsport, Mekies faces the daunting task of reviving Red Bull’s fortunes after a series of setbacks, including losing out on the World Constructors’ Championship to McLaren in 2024.

The RB21’s struggles have persisted into the current season, with even champion driver Max Verstappen finding it challenging to tame the unruly car. Despite the setbacks, Mekies and his team put up a commendable performance at the Belgian Grand Prix, with Verstappen clinching victory in the Sprint race.

Red Bull introduced a slew of upgrades ahead of the race at Spa-Francorchamps, aiming to enhance stability and predictability in the RB21. However, Mekies admitted that while the upgrades brought some performance gains, more work is needed to address the car’s balance limitations.

As the F1 2026 season looms closer, Red Bull is under immense pressure to make significant improvements to the RB21 if they aim to reclaim their former glory. The competition is fierce, with McLaren also pushing the development race forward.

With uncertainty looming over Red Bull’s future in the championship, all eyes are on Mekies to steer the team in the right direction and propel them back to the pinnacle of Formula 1 success. The stakes are high, and the clock is ticking for Red Bull to make their mark on the track once again.
