One of the most radical Ferrari F40s ever built is about to go to auction, set to take place on August 16, during Monterey Car Week in California, USA, and according to estimates from RM Sotheby’s, which will conduct the auction of the Maranello supercar, it could fetch up to $7 million, around €5.9 million.
This is a Ferrari F40 LM GTC, chassis number 95448, a rare and powerful model developed by Michelotto for competition.
This F40 left the factory in December 1992 and saw its V8 twin-turbo engine enhanced by Michelotto with larger turbochargers, larger Behr intercoolers, new camshafts, and revised electronic management, delivering an impressive 760 hp.
In addition to the engine, the aerodynamics have also been completely revised, with this F40 equipped with larger air intakes, a front hood with large air outlets, along with a huge adjustable rear spoiler. The suspension has also been revised, the braking system replaced with a competition set from Brembo, and larger wheels fitted with slick tires.
In the cabin, everything is reduced to the essentials, with sports seats and four-point seat belts and Lexan sliding windows.
