Fernando Alonso expressa arrependimento por “penalidade de 20 segundos” por movimento arriscado resultando em colisão com George Russell.

Fernando Alonso finished in eighth place in the Australian Grand Prix. The race proved to be a forgettable weekend for both Alonso and George Russell. At the end of the last lap, Russell was involved in an accident, fortunately escaping any injury. The accident was partially attributed to the actions of another driver, who was subsequently penalized.

During the final laps, Alonso was trying to increase his speed at turn six, but braked unexpectedly. This caused Russell, who was closely following with the help of DRS, to get stuck in Alonso’s turbulent air and resulted in a significant accident. Russell, however, emerged from the incident without major damage.

After reviewing the incident, the race stewards decided to impose a 20-second penalty on Alonso. This penalty caused him to drop from sixth to eighth place in the final standings. Alonso expressed his disagreement with the stewards’ decision, stating that his driving against Russell was not dangerous and that he simply acted like any racing driver. The 42-year-old driver took to social media to express his surprise at the outcome.

As mentioned earlier, George Russell had an accident on the last lap of the Australian Grand Prix. His car went off track, collided with the wall, and returned to the middle of the track.

Alonso surprised Russell by quickly closing the gap between them, but Russell perceived the maneuver as erratic. This led to him losing control of the car and going off the track. Russell acknowledged that the blame for going off track was on him and expressed disappointment with the entire sequence of events.
