Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross 100% elétrico chega em setembro

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation announced the end of its joint venture agreement with Shenyang Aerospace Mit. Engine Mfg. Ltd. (Shenyang Aerospace Mitsubishi), marking the complete withdrawal of the Japanese automaker from the Chinese automotive market.

This decision comes following the end of local automobile production in 2023 and marks a strategic withdrawal of Mitsubishi at a time of rapid transition in the Chinese market towards mobility with new energy vehicles.

Founded in August 1997, Shenyang Aerospace Mitsubishi was a pillar of Mitsubishi’s strategy in China, producing engines for vehicles of the Japanese brand and for various Chinese brands.

The joint venture, which began operations in 1998, provided essential components for the power transmission system to support Mitsubishi’s local assembly lines and those of other manufacturers. However, on July 2, 2025, the company was officially renamed Shenyang Guoqing Power Technology Co., Ltd., following the exit of Mitsubishi Motors and Mitsubishi Corporation as shareholders.

In a statement, Mitsubishi Motors cited “the rapid transformation of China’s automotive industry” as the main reason for ending the joint venture, stating that a strategic reassessment of its regional priorities is necessary.
