Midfield F1 teams Racing Bulls and Aston Martin are gearing up to unleash their final “big” upgrades at the upcoming Belgian Grand Prix, making a bold statement in the fiercely competitive 2025 season.

Racing Bulls, initially lagging behind rivals like Williams, Haas, and Aston Martin, have experienced a remarkable resurgence in recent months, securing 26 crucial points since Monaco. In a strategic move to close the gap with Sauber, Racing Bulls is set to introduce a series of aerodynamic updates at Spa, with team principal Alan Permane confirming the enhancements.

Not to be outdone, Aston Martin is also entering the fray with a significant aerodynamic component following successful trials at the British Grand Prix. Team boss Andy Cowell hinted at the team’s relentless pursuit of performance improvements, emphasizing the importance of refining their tools for the remainder of the season and beyond.

While most teams have shifted their focus towards 2026 development, the race for incremental gains remains pivotal as even the slightest performance enhancement can mean the difference between success and failure in the fiercely contested midfield battles. The unique challenges posed by the Spa circuit, including unpredictable weather conditions and a condensed sprint weekend format, add an extra layer of complexity to the teams’ strategies.

As the season hurtles towards its climax, teams are leaving no stone unturned in their quest for success, with trackside execution playing a crucial role in maximizing performance on race weekends. With the midfield pack separated by mere tenths of a second, every detail counts, and the Belgian Grand Prix promises to be a high-stakes showdown where precision and strategy will be the keys to unlocking success on the track.
