The Red Bull Formula 1 team did not have a successful performance during the 2024 Australian Grand Prix. Verstappen was forced to retire after four laps, while Perez only managed a fifth place in the 58-lap race.

The RB20 car did not live up to high expectations at Albert Park. After the race, Sergio Perez acknowledged that even if Verstappen had not retired, the Ferrari team would still have emerged as the winners.

Ferrari secured a 1-2 finish in the Australian Grand Prix with their drivers!

When asked if Sainz would have won regardless of Verstappen’s retirement, Perez replied,

After the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, Ferrari reduced the gap to Red Bull in both the Constructors’ and Drivers’ Championships for the 2024 season. Currently, the Italian team is only four points behind Red Bull. The same margin applies to the battle between Leclerc and Verstappen in the drivers’ standings, with Leclerc trailing by four points.

Although Sergio Perez gave his perspective on Red Bull’s performance in the 2024 Australian Grand Prix, the team itself is also deeply disappointed.

Horner believes that a series of issues with the two RB20 cars contributed to Red Bull’s challenging day at Albert Park.

Compared to Ferrari’s 44 points, Red Bull only managed to score 10 points in the Australian Grand Prix. The next race on the F1 calendar is the Japanese Grand Prix. Max Verstappen emerged victorious in last year’s event and, considering his recent performance and that of Red Bull, he will be determined to set things right at the renowned Suzuka racing circuit.
