Smart has expanded its partnership with Trek, a well-known brand of competition bicycles, by jointly creating an exclusive Smart #5 to celebrate the cycling season in Europe and the 2025 edition of the Tour de France, which takes place until next weekend.
The paintwork of the Smart #5 is inspired by Trek’s latest Project One ICON, a premium collection of paint schemes that represents the highest artistic level in custom bicycles, which Trek debuted at this year’s Tour de France with the professional cycling team Lidl-Trek.
The #5, Smart’s first premium SUV, serves as the canvas for the collaboration between the two companies. Positioned as a ‘Contemporary Adventurer,’ the #5 combines an honest and robust design with features focused on outdoor activities and integrated equipment accessories, making it the ideal partner for Trek’s cycling adventures.
This is not the first time that Smart and Trek have joined forces, as the two brands previously developed the successful ‘Ultimate Project One’ – which saw Trek transform its iconic ‘Madone Gen 8’ into a custom road bike in collaboration with Smart – followed by a joint creation of an e-MTB, inspired by the #5 and the #5 Brabus, respectively.
Remember that the Smart #5 electric features an 800 V system, DC charging up to 400 kW, and a range of up to 590 km with power starting at 340 hp.
