Tesla announced that it has sold three million units of the Model 3 worldwide since its launch in 2017.
This means that, on average, one unit of this model was sold every minute and a half over the past eight years. To give an idea, the American company has sold over seven million electric vehicles to date.
According to the portal ‘Teslarati’, the announcement of the Model 3, three million, was made through the Chinese social network ‘Weibo’, where Tesla’s Vice President for China, Grace Tao, highlighted the achievement of the 100% electric model.
Tao stated that the Model 3 “has become the choice of more than three million car owners worldwide“. The vehicle holds the title of the best-selling electric car in the world in the sedan category for seven consecutive years.
Remember that the Model 3 was launched in 2017 as the first vehicle from Elon Musk’s brand for the global market, and it complemented the American brand’s range of 100% electric vehicles, which at that time consisted of the luxury sedan Model S and the SUV Model X.
