Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has announced that it is testing an intelligent charging solution for electric vehicles in the United Kingdom with the software platform ev.energy.
In this way, ten Jaguar I-Pace vehicles will be used as part of a pilot project to test the integration of the ev.energy software with JLR’s connected vehicle services. The goal is to manage charging processes in a way that is friendly to the electrical grid and prioritize the use of renewable energy.
By intelligently controlling the flow of energy and charging times, the new solution aims to reduce costs for users and minimize the load on the grid. The software utilizes a global network of over 55 energy suppliers.
JLR also revealed that after the completion of the pilot phase, the solution is expected to be implemented in the United Kingdom, the USA, and the European Union.
“Collaboration with ev.energy highlights the importance of collaboration between companies in developing new ideas to address some of the biggest challenges in our industry.”, said Swarna Ramanathan, JLR’s strategy director.
