Opel has just revealed that the Frontera Electric now includes an “Extended Range” version, which features a 59 kWh battery that promises a range of up to 409 kilometers. The new battery can be charged from 20 to 80% in about 30 minutes at a 100 kW fast charging station.
This new version joins the 100% electric variant offered since the launch of the Opel Frontera, which is equipped with a 44 kWh battery and promises a range of up to 305 km.
The global offering of the Frontera now includes two 100% electric variants and two hybrid versions, as well as two equipment levels, Edition and GS.
All variants of the Opel Frontera, regardless of the type of engine, share common features of space and flexibility. The Frontera offers a cargo capacity of up to about 1600 liters and a rear seat that can be split in a 60:40 ratio.
Thanks to the vertical sides and the rear window, passengers enjoy plenty of space, especially in the second row. In addition, there are smart features that make trips in the Frontera more enjoyable. Even the Edition version includes, as standard, a smartphone docking station for all those who like to use their own mobile device as a source of infotainment, as well as flexible storage locations and smartphone pockets on the backs of the front seats, along with an optional wireless charger.
“At the premiere, we had already announced an electric variant with greater range. Now we are delivering! With up to 409 kilometers according to the WLTP cycle, families can also take longer trips with peace of mind – and at affordable prices, as is the case with our Frontera,” said Alejandro Noriega, Director of Opel Spain and Portugal.
Opel also announced that the new version of the Frontera with a 59 kWh battery is available at a starting price of €26,490, while the version equipped with a 44 kWh battery starts at €24,490.
