Denza B5 vai chegar ao mercado europeu

The Chinese electric vehicle giant BYD continues to be committed to the strategy of expanding its brands, and the latest bet is the premium brand Denza, which aims to conquer new markets in Europe.

At the latest edition of the Goodwood Festival, the BYD Group brand unveiled the Z9GT and the D9 minivan. Additionally, according to “Autocar,” the brand revealed that it will soon offer the powerful B5 SUV, a plug-in hybrid.

Launched in China last year under the name Bao 5, the vehicle, which is 4.89 meters long, is one of three models from BYD’s new SUV sub-brand, Fang Cheng Bao. However, presumably in Europe, this SUV will be named Denza B5 and will be marketed alongside the Z9 GT shooting brake and the D9 minivan.

Denza has not yet revealed technical details of the new B5; however, “Autocar” reports that the model will be identical to what is sold in the Chinese market, featuring a plug-in hybrid system, equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine and two electric motors, one axle motor, generating a power of 687 hp. The two electric motors are powered by a 31.8 kWh battery, which according to the Chinese CLTC standard is capable of providing an electric range of up to 125 km.

It is worth noting that Denza was created about 15 years ago as a joint venture between BYD and Mercedes-Benz, initially focusing on the world’s largest automotive market, China. However, after Mercedes-Benz’s exit, BYD transformed Denza into a premium brand of electrified models.
