Renault Rafale 4×4 é a nova viatura oficial do presidente Emmanuel Macron

The presidency of the French Republic has just added to the list of presidential vehicles with an exclusive version of the Renault Rafale E-Tech 4×4, which will now serve President Emmanuel Macron.

The model produced at the Palencia factory in Spain represents a technological and elegant approach to the brand’s style. Externally, the presidential version is distinguished by a sober and harmonious silhouette, enriched by discreetly integrated distinctive elements: a tricolor grille, removable flagpoles, and blue, white, and red emblems on the front doors.

The exclusive “presidential blue” shade of the bodywork incorporates technology that reduces heat absorption by up to 10°C, thus contributing to thermal comfort in the cabin. Additionally, it is also distinguished by the presence of blue, white, and red particles, visible under intense sunlight.

The rear doors feature an assisted closing system, ensuring smooth and silent operation, in accordance with protocol requirements. The flagpoles are discreetly integrated into the bodywork through retractable hatches, providing a subtle and harmonious appearance during official travels.

This Rafale E-Tech 4×4 with 300 hp of power has also undergone an enhancement of its armor capabilities and technical adaptations. To reconcile safety and comfort, lightweight and durable composite materials were selected. The discreet and certified armor integrates perfectly into the vehicle’s design without altering its visual identity.

The chassis has been specifically adjusted to provide a smooth and stable driving experience, even in urban environments, while the suspension has been adapted to compensate for the weight of the armor. Finally, the 20″ wheels are fitted with Michelin tires for all weather conditions, which, along with a four-wheel steering system, ensure an ideal balance between agility, maneuverability, and stability.

Regarding the interior, Renault recruited some specialists to help develop something that, according to the French brand, represents the best of French style, luxury, and craftsmanship. The collaboration resulted in a unique steering wheel and dashboard for the Rafale, finished in black marble sourced from the Pyrenees, and rear control panels in dark beech wood, produced by a renowned carpenter.

Additionally, the leather, sourced from selected scraps, has been reworked in specific colors, while the blue of the stitching was carefully chosen to match the official palette of the French Republic. The headrests were laser-engraved to incorporate the symbols of France with high quality.

In the backrests of the front seats, integrated pockets accommodate useful items for passengers, combining discretion and functionality. One of the main challenges was to integrate ventilation into the rear seats, which required precise engineering to preserve comfort without compromising the elegance of the design.

Finally, upon opening the front doors, the backrests of the driver’s and passenger’s seats are illuminated with the “RF” monogram.

Remember that Renault has been providing vehicles for the French presidency since 1920. It all began with the Renault 40 HP, a gem of French luxury, used by Paul Deschanel and his successors. Since then, twelve heads of state have entrusted Renault with their official travels, choosing iconic models that over time have combined elegance, refinement, innovation, and comfort.
