The American electric car manufacturer Lucid has set a new record for the longest journey of a 100% electric vehicle on a single charge.
The record now appears in the “Guinness World Records,” having been achieved last weekend with the Grand Touring version of the Lucid Air, which traveled 1205 kilometers between St. Moritz, Switzerland, and Munich, Germany, without stopping to recharge the battery. In this way, the Air surpassed the previous record of 1045 kilometers, set in June by the Mercedes-Benz EQS.
“This record is the best proof of our technological leadership – we are not just developing electric vehicles, we are setting new standards in electric mobility”, said Eric Bach, Vice President of Product and Chief Engineer at Lucid. “This record is only possible thanks to our exceptional electric vehicle technology, including the most powerful propulsion systems on the market, as well as the most advanced battery management system currently available. This means that a Lucid offers more range with a smaller battery than other electric vehicles on the market.”
It is worth noting that the Grand Touring version of the Lucid Air boasts a range of up to 960 kilometers and offers 831 horsepower, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 270 km/h. The batteries can be charged for up to 400 kilometers of range in 16 minutes at suitable fast charging stations.
