W1 é o McLaren mais potente e rápido de sempre

McLaren has announced that it will hold the world premiere of the new W1 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the United Kingdom, which takes place from July 10 to 13.

The successor to the P1, it is the most powerful and fastest supercar ever from the Woking brand, and is equipped with a new 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine with electric assistance, that is, hybrid, which delivers a combined power of 1275 hp and 1340 Nm of maximum torque, ensuring acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 320 km/h, the same as the P1.

The new combustion engine, named ‘MPH-8’, has been built entirely from scratch and develops 916 hp. Its block is made of aluminum components and features plasma spray cylinder bores, which helps achieve a “redline” at 9200 rpm, while the two twin-scroll turbochargers kick in at just 2500 rpm.

The new V8 also benefits from electric assistance provided by an ‘E-Module’, which consists of a radial flow electric motor, an engine control unit, and a 1.4 kWh battery.

This electric motor adds 346 hp to the power of the gasoline engine. In addition, the battery allows the McLaren W1 to have a 100% electric range of just 1.6 kilometers.

At Goodwood, the new W1 will be showcased to the public for the first time, with McLaren making it clear that the model combines the authentic attributes of a supercar, with sensational power and a pure connection to the driver, to provide an incredible driving experience both on the road and on the track. It is already known that the Woking brand will produce only 399 units, and all of them already have owners.
