Charles Leclerc Dominates FP3 Showdown, Sets Stage for British GP Pole Fight

Charles Leclerc dominates the final practice session at the British Grand Prix, setting the stage for a thrilling three-way pole position battle between Ferrari, McLaren, and Red Bull. Leclerc’s impressive performance pips Oscar Piastri and Max Verstappen, with just 0.087s separating the top three drivers in FP3.

Leclerc’s time of 1m25.498s not only secures the fastest time of the weekend but also puts him 0.068s ahead of Piastri, the earlier pacesetter. Despite a strong showing from Lando Norris, who was just a tenth off the top spot, it was Verstappen who was hot on the heels of the front two drivers before a late-session setback.

Verstappen faced challenges with traffic on the track and issues with his Red Bull’s brake bias, which he likened to a handbrake. However, the Red Bull driver managed to improve his performance towards the end of the session, hinting at a potentially fierce battle for pole position.

The session saw some dramatic moments, including a red flag caused by Gabriel Bortoleto’s Sauber spinning off the track. Ollie Bearman, despite an eventful session that included causing a red flag himself, finished sixth fastest overall.

As the session concluded, Alex Albon secured seventh place for Williams, while George Russell of Mercedes had a lock-up on his final attempt after encountering traffic from a Red Bull and a Ferrari. The Racing Bulls duo of Isack Hadjar and Liam Lawson completed the top 10, setting the stage for an electrifying qualifying session.

With Leclerc, Piastri, and Verstappen showcasing their speed in FP3, all eyes are now on the intense battle expected for pole position at Silverstone. Stay tuned for more updates as the British Grand Prix weekend unfolds.
