Carlos Sainz chocado com qualificação na primeira fila em sua primeira corrida pós-cirurgia de apendicite.

Carlos Sainz surprised the paddock with an impressive comeback at the Australian GP. After the Spaniard put his car on the front row for Sunday’s race, he attracted the attention and admiration of the spectators.

Carlos Sainz (via IMAGO) showed a quick recovery after an appendicitis surgery. Having been forced to miss the previous race due to the surgery, Sainz could have missed the chance to achieve a good result. However, the 29-year-old driver started the season exceptionally well by qualifying on the front row. Sainz expressed disbelief at this remarkable result.

Throughout the three practice sessions of the event, Sainz performed admirably. Consequently, he drove skillfully during qualifying and outperformed his teammate. Reflecting on the challenging past weeks and the time spent in bed, the 29-year-old driver acknowledged that qualifying on the front row was almost unbelievable.

Furthermore, Sainz recalled the practice sessions at Albert Park and emphasized that he felt “rusty” during those sessions. Despite this, the Spaniard adapted well to the SF-24 for his final season at Ferrari. However, due to his recent surgery, Carlos Sainz admitted to feeling very uncomfortable during the session. Nevertheless, he explained that he did not feel pain, which allowed him to push through during qualifying.

Meanwhile, facing various issues with his SF24 during qualifying, the Monegasque driver managed to secure fifth place on the grid for the Australian GP. The 26-year-old driver noted that he did not find the desired feeling with the challenging SF-24. Leclerc added that the front of the car was not as strong as desired, leading the team to adopt an aggressive approach with the front wing.

Leclerc also highlighted the duration of the race, which featured four DRS zones to encourage early competition. Despite this, he believed that Red Bull still had an advantage over the other teams. However, the Monegasque driver asserted his ability to pressure Sergio Perez and other competitors to gain an advantage on the track.

Ferrari made significant improvements compared to the 2023 season. Despite their recent setback, Sainz made a remarkable comeback. As a result, the Australian GP promises to be an exciting event for Tifosi fans as they witness the challenge that Maranello presents to the current world champions, Red Bull.
