Red Bull’s Sergio Perez and McLaren’s Lando Norris capitalized on Leclerc’s decision to abandon his final effort, resulting in the Monegasque driver finishing in fifth place. George Russell will start in seventh place for Mercedes, as Lewis Hamilton was eliminated in Q2. Yuki Tsunoda also advanced to Q3 for the second time this season and finished in eighth place, benefiting from minor mistakes made by the two Aston Martin drivers. Unfortunately, fan favorite Daniel Ricciardo had a disappointing performance and was eliminated in Q1 due to track limits violations.
