Skoda Epiq “apanhado” em testes antes da estreia

Skoda plans to launch the small electric crossover Epiq later this year, featuring a design based on the concept revealed in March 2024, as suggested by recent images of the test models “caught” by “AutoExpress.”

Compared to the prototype, the production model looks more conventional, but specific details remain hidden by camouflage. There are still no official images of the production model’s interior. However, the prototype featured a 12.9-inch infotainment system screen and a 10.9-inch digital instrument panel.

The layout is complemented by analog rotary buttons for the climate control system and assistance systems. According to the manufacturer, the cargo volume is about 490 liters, despite the compact external length of around 4.10 meters.

The new Skoda Epiq is based on the new MEB entry platform from the Volkswagen Group, developed specifically for compact fully electric vehicles with front-wheel drive, the same one used in the new VW ID.2.

The Epiq model will feature two battery variants: a 38 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery and a larger capacity 56 kWh battery, which is expected to provide a WLTP range of up to 450 kilometers.

The batteries can be charged at up to 125 kW, meaning that the larger battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in approximately 20 minutes.

According to “Auto Motor und Sport”, the new Skoda Epiq will offer a range of engines with two power outputs, 160 hp and 190 hp. Additionally, the new 100% electric model from the Czech brand will feature bidirectional charging, allowing it to serve as a mobile power source for small appliances or photovoltaic systems.
